Overheating & Hardware Failure

I purchased a NetGear router expecting solid performance, but overheating became a serious issue within a few months. The device gets extremely hot to the touch even during light use, and after several weeks of this, it began randomly shutting down. Each shutdown disconnects all my devices and disrupts work, streaming, and security systems. Resetting the router only helps temporarily. I contacted customer support and was told to improve ventilation, which did nothing. For the price paid, I expected better hardware durability. Reliability should not be this poor.

Slow Internet Speed on Netgear Router

Netgear router with my Frontier internet service. Even with a strong plan, my connection is unstable, pages take forever to load, and streaming constantly buffers. Speed tests show huge drops throughout the day. I contacted Frontier first, then Netgear, and both kept pointing fingers at each other instead of fixing the issue. After hours of troubleshooting, nothing improved. Paying for high-speed internet and getting this kind of performance is extremely frustrating and disappointing.

I’ve reset the equipment, updated firmware, and checked all cables, but nothing fixes it long-term. Support keeps giving the same basic troubleshooting steps without solving the real issue. A stable connection is the bare minimum, and this service fails to deliver that. It’s exhausting dealing with constant interruptions.
